1) What do I do if I need help?
Mental health screenings are a common part of many health plans and Medicare.
Some of them may help you access services, and some of them can help you stay healthy.

2) When do I need to get a screening?
It depends on how you’re covered.
You might get a test at a screening center, at your GP’s office, or in your hospital.
If you’re on Medicare, you might get one when you call for your mental healthcare.
The Medicare Mental Health Act requires all mental health patients to be screened by a mental healthcare professional within 30 days of the date of their claim.
This screening is called a “pre-screen”.
3) Do I need a mental wellness evaluation?
You’ll need to fill out a form called a Form ICD-10 to get an evaluation.
This form asks questions about your health, how well you’re feeling, and how you might be experiencing mental health symptoms.
You’ll also need to provide information about your mental illness to help your mental care provider understand your symptoms.
